GED in Manitoba

GED® (General Educational Development) testing was discontinued in Manitoba and across Canada as of May 3, 2024.

Beginning in summer 2024, the Canadian Adult Education Credential (CAEC) replaced the GED in Manitoba. For more information, please visit the Canadian Adult Education Credential in Manitoba page.

The GED credential will continue to be recognized as valid. Previously earned GED certificates continue to be recognized by most employers and may also be accepted for employment, apprenticeship admission, and other training programs (program entry and prerequisite requirements may vary).

If you completed the GED in Manitoba, you can request a copy of your transcript. Manitobans who have passed certain GED tests can request to have the tests recognized toward CAEC until May 2027. Use the Prior Learning Assessment and Recognition form to request recognition of your successful GED tests.
