Valuing Dance Experience (DA-V2) » 
Students analyze their own and others’ dance excerpts, works, and performances.

 

Students who have achieved expectations for this grade are able to

describe, with teacher guidance, own and others’ dance

(include:

  • dance elements [e.g., body actions, space, relationships]
  • dance techniques [e.g., dance steps, formations]
  • dance themes, costumes, and props [e.g., hoops, scarves])

K-2 DA-V2.1

 describe and analyze own and others’ dance excerpts and works in terms of grade-appropriate dance concepts (e.g., elements, techniques, motion factors and gestures, musical qualities, themes, use of costumes and props)

3-4 DA-V2.1
demonstrate understanding that noticing details enhances own thinking about dance, as well as appreciation, performance, and creation of dance
