Analysis of Teachers' Self-reported Skills in Using ICT Applications
The IMYM rubric for the Self-Assessment of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Literacy (Appendix A) allows teachers to self-assess the competency level of their skills from Beginning to Exemplary levels in fifteen information and communication technology (ICT) areas
- basic computer operation
- file management
- networking
- word processing
- spreadsheet use
- database use
- concept mapping
- graphics and animation
- information searching
- Internet searching
- web page creation
- email use
- multimedia
- digital imaging
- videography/video editing
In each of these ICT areas, teachers select from a rubric of four competency levels
- Beginning
- Developing
- Accomplished
- Exemplary
The complete rubric is found in Appendix A: Self-Assessment of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Literacy. The figure below graphs the percentage of teachers at each level of the fifteen ICT application skills.
