The Manitoba Scholarship and Bursary Initiative
Through the Manitoba Scholarship and Bursary Initiative, the provincial government matches a lot of the private donations that schools get from donors at a 1 to 2 ratio (1 government dollar for every 2 private dollars donated).
This means that the provincial government gives out $10.0 million to schools each year, who then match these dollars. Each school then divides this money up into different types of non-repayable scholarships, grants and/or bursaries. By schools’ matching these dollars, $30.0 million will be available to students this year.
