Early Years Evaluation

The Early Years Evaluation – Teacher Assessment (EYE-TA) is an Early Years assessment tool developed by The Learning Bar and used widely by school divisions across Canada. It provides real-time, student-specific data to classroom teachers, schools, and school divisions to respond to in-year learning needs of Kindergarten students informing both classroom and school-level planning with a focus on supporting early literacy skills and healthy childhood development.

Starting in the 2023/24 school year, Manitoba has procured provincial licencing for the EYE-TA for a three-year EYE-TA provincial pilot project. This will enable school divisions to have expanded access to the EYE-TA in both English and French, supporting classroom teachers and schools in the development of an inclusive approach to meeting students’ learning needs, specifically relating to early literacy.
