‘M’ Designated TVE Courses and Third Party Accreditation

All Technical-Vocational Education (TVE) courses are designated as ‘S’, ‘E’ or ‘M’. Students who successfully complete one of the 19 clusters listed below, with all ‘S’ or ‘E’ designated courses, may be eligible for accreditation from a third party. This is because the ‘S’ and ‘E’ courses contain the entire curriculum prescribed by a third party (such as the Level 1 technical training accreditation in a trade from Apprenticeship Manitoba).

However, students who complete a cluster with one or more 'M' designated courses, would not be eligible for third party certification, which requires students to complete the entire curriculum. Modified (M designated) courses have had changes made with respect to the number, essence or content of grade level provincial Expected Learning Outcomes. These changes are made to the course to meet the learning needs of a student who has been identified as having an intellectual deficit through specialized assessment. However, changes made to the provincial Expected Learning Outcomes will mean that the course will not meet the criteria for third party accreditation.
