Application to Exclude Previous Name from the Teacher Registry
Manitoba Education and Early Childhood Learning will be launching a registry of all teachers certified since 1960 in January 2025. Individuals may request that a previous legal name be excluded from the online teacher registry, for instance if it may cause personal injury or hardship. The Director will consider each request on a case-by-case basis and will exclude the previous name unless doing so would not be in the public interest.

Strengthening Partnerships: Improving the Quality of Teacher Candidate Program Experiences in Manitoba (
68 KB) – The advisory body to the Minister of Education and Training on matters related to teacher education and certification, namely, the Teacher Education and Certification Committee, undertook a review of pre-service teacher practicum programs to identify ways in which these practicum experiences could be improved. This review resulted in the development of this beneficial resource document that has been recommended by the Minister for adoption as a best practice approach to supporting the quality of teacher practicum placements.
