What obstacles did you face and how did you overcome them?
Aligning Indigenous worldviews with our current education system can be tricky at times. Going back to my values, reminding myself why we do this work, helps me to move forward in a good way.

Who or what inspired you to really go after the profession you are in now?
Wanting to learn more about my Metis heritage from my Grandmother Rosalie Dreilich who was born in Ste. Madeleine. Also, my professor from the University of Manitoba, Dr. Laara Fitznor.

What critical choices or decisions did you make that helped you get where you are today?
The work that I do, I do for the students. Whenever I am making decisions or choices, I remind myself to put students at the centre.

Message of Encouragement:
Although Indigenous education can be hard work, it is important work. Make sure to take care of your own health and well-being and have a good support network. Laughter is medicine.
