Promote and provide support to Indigenous Education team in Seven Oaks School Division. Assist the team leader in various aspects of programming, partnerships, and professional development.

What obstacles did you face and how did you overcome them?
When reflecting upon this, I came to a personal understanding of myself. My biggest obstacle to face and overcome was my own attitude towards life. It was me holding myself back. Once I was able to change my beliefs and adjust my attitude I was able to realize that there is no limit to what or who I can be.
What or who inspired you to really go after the profession you are in now?
My children have been my inspiration to better myself and to attain goals I’ve set for myself; to lead by example. I have always aspired to work with youth and have done so since 2003.
What critical choices or decisions did you make that helped you get where you are today?
The biggest and best choice I have had to make was to enroll myself into a long term education course. I enrolled in CATEP to attain the credentials required to become a certified teacher.

Only focus on the things in which we have control over and let go of those things which are out of your control. We as individuals can be our own road blocks. By connecting our minds to our hearts, we will find our purpose. Lift your spirit by lifting others!
