“Break impossible goals into little pieces and appreciate the joy of handling today’s piece.”

What or who inspired you to really go after the profession you are in now?
I had an awful high school experience and was the victim of daily bullying because of my Indigenous roots. However, I always had a deep feeling and conviction that I had a purpose in life greater than anyone else dared dream for me. That unshakable belief guided me to Winnipeg and to eventually become a teacher.

What critical choices or decisions did you make that helped you get where you are today?
The biggest thing is to follow your heart and take risks. The more audacious you can be, the better. Dare to dream and inspire students to do the same. Nothing is impossible.

Message of Encouragement:
A legacy is the culmination of many years, many days, many hours... But your only responsibility is to the present moment. Break impossible goals into little pieces and appreciate the joy of handling today’s piece.
