In the English Program, the Middle Years compulsory subject areas consist of arts education, English language arts, mathematics, physical education/health education, science, and social studies. School Leaders’ Guide to Middle Years Curricula provides school leaders with an overview and a summary of curriculum information and outcomes. The document includes information about the six Middle Years Compulsory Subject Areas.
Information for Parents
The website My Child in School: A Resource for Parents provides parents with information about what their children are learning in compulsory subject areas from Grades 5 to 8 in the English Program.
